In Hampstead, London Basement delivered an 80 m² basement beneath a new residential structure, along with ground floor slab and superstructure works. Structural steel was installed throughout, supported by below-slab drainage and structural waterproofing to ensure a durable, dry basement environment. Extensive temporary works were required to support excavation and construction safely within a constrained site. Access was particularly challenging, with a single-lane road and restrictions on either side limiting vehicle movement and delivery sizes. Logistics planning was critical, with tightly scheduled deliveries and material handling strategies required to maintain programme. The project was completed on time in 2020, demonstrating London Basement’s ability to deliver technically demanding basements under tight urban constraints.
