Basement, Shell & Core Construction

Located on a world-renowned Abbey Road, known for the studios that recorded some of the biggest musicians in music history, this property is a 20th century mansion block split into two sections comprising two separate communal stairwells serving 12 self-contained apartments within each to create a total of 29 new apartments.
The project will deliver two additional storeys and a full basement with the ground floor set approximately 1m below the surrounding ground level.
140 tonnes of new steelwork were introduced and installed to provide the new levels and rear extension areas. Temporary works were designed to allow for the superstructure to be built concurrently with the new basement below. This consisted of using a combination of structural steel stools and temporary underpins, whilst utilising the Pynford beam solution to suspend the building to accelerate and reduce the overall construction period for a valued repeat client.
