Working as part of the main contractor’s team, this project involved a retrofit basement including the full superstructure package, the steel frame installation alongside the structural timber floors. The scope involved using an intricate and complex form of temporary works engineering to enable the basement construction in a “top-down” methodology. We installed the upper steel frame and timber floors at the early stages of the project to allow our client access to the upper levels of the site and progress in a manner of which a traditional “bottom-up” construction would not have restricted.
